Toledo mayor D. Michael Collins is asking for federal help to improve Toledo's water system and deal with the issue of algal blooms in Lake Erie. In an open letter sent to President Obama and Ohio's Congressional delegation, Collins called on federal officials to "take swift action to preserve our health and quality of life." 

Collins is asking for additional resources to help improve the area's water treatment facilities, as well as help in combating harmful algal blooms in the western basin of Lake Erie. You can read the mayor's full letter below.
