The Flu Could Peak Next Week-You may want to hold off of the New Year’s kisses and hugs.
The CDC is warning about widespread flu in nearly two-dozen states. It also says that with people traveling and getting together with family over the holidays, flu season could peak next week. Adding to the concern is that this year's flu vaccine seems to be just ten-percent effective, a real mismatch.
The virus started a little early this year and there’s a 60 percent chance that the worst outbreak will be in late January.
Flu is an airborne illness spread through coughing, sneezing, even just breathing and talking. Despite the ineffectiveness of the vaccine, experts recommend you got that flu shot as soon as possible.Source: Washington Post
