Jeep Unveils New Cherokee, Not Built in Toledo

(Detroit, MI)    Jeep has unveiled its newly redesigned 2019 Cherokee SUV at the North American International Auto Show.

The front of the vehicle received a complete change with the removal of the "three stack" headlight design and new seven-slot front grille.  The tailgate of the vehicle has also been changed and is lighter than the previous model.

Cherokee production moved to a plant in Illinois once the Toledo Jeep assembly complex was retooled to make the next-generation Wrangler.

Jeep officials say the new Cherokee will also have the option of a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, new technology inside and will come in five trim levels.  The new Cherokee will be available in the first quarter of 2018.
