Kroger Opts Not To Build At Former Sisters of Notre Dame Property

TOLEDO, Ohio - Kroger has decided not to build a new Marketplace store on property purchased from the Sisters of Notre Dame.

WTOL 11 reports the company announced their decision Friday, cancelling plans to construct a 123,000-square-foot store on the property at Secor and Monroe. The company already has a plan to sell the property at 3835 Secor. Kroger says it will instead make improvements to its existing Monroe Street store.

Kroger bought the property from the Sisters of Notre Dame last July, but announced intentions for a new store in the area in late 2014.
