Multiple Counties Under Flash Flood Watch As Area Hit With Heavy Rain

TOLEDO, Ohio - Many counties in the area are under a Flood Watch as heavy rains move through the area today.

The following counties are under a flash flood watch until 8pm tonight:

  • Lucas
  • Wood
  • Erie
  • Hancock
  • Ottawa
  • Sandusky
  • Seneca
  • Defiance
  • Fulton
  • Henry
  • Paulding
  • Putnam
  • Van Wert
  • Williams
  • Allen

The National Weather Service says localized areas of moderate to heavy rain will continue to move through the area throughout the afternoon and evening. Any heavier rainfall amounts will quickly run off, which may lead to additional or worsening flooding. Additional rainfall amounts through this evening of one to two inches.

A Flash Flood Watch is issued when there is a potential for flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Monitor the forecast and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued or if flooding develops.
