142,600 gallons of combined sewage and stormwater overflows into Lake Erie

Heavy rain led to an estimated 142,600 gallons of raw sewage and stormwater being discharged in the lake, according to the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. Visitors, particularly children, the elderly and those in ill health are advised to avoid contact with the water and debris. The area affected by the CSO is near Edgewater beach near Cleveland.
